Get one of the puncture repair canisters, then you've got the choice of doing a proper repair or attaching the canister, filling up with gunk and riding on, albeit at reduced pressure. I've used one in filthy weather when I didn't fancy trying to make a patch stick.Trouble is, Sod's Law kicks in and most of my flats are at night on unlit country roads.I even tried that green gunk stuff that you put in your inner tube,and I still got a puncture-and what was worse was that it couldn't be repaired because the patch wouldn't stick to the gunky tube.
