Heh-heh!! At what stage did you realise it wasn't?
Having mentioned the French propensity for daft place names, I've just looked at a map of the Belgian coast. Not that I'm thinking of cycling to Ostend and getting the Kusttram part-way back, oh deary me no.
Anyway. Jabbeke, Koksijde, Zedelgem and Plopsaland all leapt out at me as spectacularly unhinged place names. Plopsaland is apparently a theme park, though I dread to think of what the theme is...
