As a matter of fact, he got it in York, at the vintage top near the top of Fossgate. Obviously, their stock varies...
He does look rather super in a waistcoat like that. We showed pics to a friend last night who said there was a hint of Jonny Depp about the whole outfit.

The waistcoat was a lucky find in an period clothes shop in York. We have since bought another one in burgundy stripe that has a slight 'wallpaper' look to it from a charity shop. I think we may be increasing our collection of waistcoats as we find them.
I might even look for fabrics and make some.

It just sort of evolved. NT likes fruit cake a lot, I find it a bit rich, but I love cheese. And wensleydale is a traditional accompaniment for fruit cake. Once we decided we wanted both, pork pie was just the obvious top layer!
The shop I got the cheese from will do a whole three tiered cheese 'cake' but we didn't want to miss out on actual cake.
