Didn`t marry till i was 31, having to do things that had to be done, but 21 yrs and 3 kids later still very happily married. Although we have had our moments, thats all they have ever been.
Oh by the way, from meeting to marriage was 6 months, and no she wasn`t.:?:

Aha , I new it! The cats out of the bag! I bet my mate five quid that Leonard Rossiter is dead and that you are infact an imposter!!:?:
Nope, I'm not Leonard Rossiter... but I AM Reginald Perrin...

(Reginald Perrin played Leonard Rossiter for a while, but had to eventually kill him off, a bad case of rising Damp and a nasty Martini habit).

..well it's been 30 years now and we've been through a lot...usually the peaks and troughs even themselves out but I have to be honest and say that the downs are deeper and th eups are smaller these days...it's complicated and I cant go into it here...maybe it's the midlife thing...maybe it's not...I suspect not...anyway just thought I'd ask...you know , see if the grass is ever greener etc

I don't know this from experience as I'm still with mrs rich p after 33 years but there must be a point when it's right to not try to stay together if it's really wrong for both people. Kids complicate the issue of course but it can't always be the right decision to stay together unhappily. I think. I've got the impression from some of your previous posts that eveything wasn't rosy on the domestic front but how can anyone truy know from the outside.

I'm always faintly disappointed that people don't look like their avatars...
I do!

D.I.V.O.R.C.E?
Yup, got the t-shirt and the scars. Didn't get the wedding presents and the Le-Creuset saucepan set though. Bitter after <checks fingers> 16 years? Hell yes, I really loved those saucepans! :?:

But when it's over, it's over. Sometimes you only learn how to tell the hard way...:sad:

Married in september 1969 and still together. That'll be 40 years next September. I accept that it doesn't happen to everybody.

Congratulations John, she must be a gem to tolerate you for such a long time:biggrin::biggrin:

It must be attraction of your leathers!

...it's the Pontin(g)s holidays she likes...Warner path to her heart with chivalry and the occasional bit of Butlin'...

Congratulations!
If I had stayed tied down betrothed the first time, it would have been more than thirty years now  (Yep - she was a cradle snatcher!)

I'm quite disappointed to learn that you don't look like your avatar. I find it strangely alluring, and quite normal compared to some of the women I've been out with.

Yours is just confusing...
