After a hard ride my muscles feel sore the same kind of soreness I would have if doing squats on the gym. Now my guess is that the muscle has been broken down and now needs to repair itself. If I ride on sore legs the pain gets worse. The more I ride on sore legs the worse it gets I can only assume I am compounding the damage done to tje muscle fibres. I have found I need to wait until my legs are no longer sore before riding again.
My theory is this. As I am a relative Noob a hard ride is stressing my music lessons more than a seasoned rider.
Now with me being what I would call a weak rider I think the problem is this. I can not so a recovery ride with small enough intensity for it to have the desired effect. No matter how slow o try to go inevitably on hills my dnaerobic effort will go up simply to get up the hill at this point I am no longer spinning the legs over and aiding recovery what I dm doing is further damaging muscle fibres and thus setting back my recovery times more.
That's why I feel to do a proper Recovery ride with no intensity whatsoever would me me riding very very slowly on the flat.
They just don't work for me.
