My 10 year old wants a snooker table which knows he won't get because I don't want his bedroom cluttered up etc etc ;) Actually I thought if I could get something cheap on ebay I may relent. It would need to be folding so periodically I can 'file' it in the garage or under the bed. Does anyone have any recommendations and what size would I need.

6 by 3. Get a foldable. If you have the space get a fixed one. Nothing else will work (unless your house is very big). This is good enough to practise on, if he wants to get good go down the club when he's a bit older.

You want something like this but closer to home http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/snooker-table...14&_trkparms=72:1298|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318

great thanks knew someone on here would help. Now I need a bargain, don't want to pay loads as novelty will wear off but 99p would do me fine! Anyone with one near guildford to get rid of let me know.;)

That is a bargain. Snooker tables cost much more than people think. Often £200 or £300 for 6 by 3s brand new. Second hand ones knock around and some people want to just get rid of them. My old landlord bought a commercial pool table for £90. On second hand ones the cushions and cloth are still fine. Not realy sure on price as they aren't that common.

Pity we didn't know you some years back.

I have a cousin who used to own a "social club" in Coventry. He had 4 full sized tables he was trying to get rid off. Easier for him to give them away free as the cost of transportation/disposal was more expensive.

Full sized tables cannot be put in normal houses without reinforcing. The flooring needs reinforcing as the slate is so heavy. Great if you want a snooker table though, makes complete sense ;).

Get him World Championship Snooker for the PC.

He's a sporty boy (cricket, football, rugby and tennisoh and cycles to school) wants 'balls' to play with if you'll pardon my expression

I hope you have a big dining room table Willow. Once the snooker table is up - it will never come down this side of Easter!

Pity they don't do all weather ones like table tennis it could go outside then

Whatever you do, try and find a flat one.

My Dad got us one from the tip that needed a certain amount of skill to play on.
There was a very good reason it was at the tip in the first place.

Hard to find an exactly level surface for outdoor use too. Just get him a Playstation 3 instead!

nope no electronic games this year. Actually he's having a new tennis racket but thought if I could pick up a really cheap second hand table he could have that too.

Get him a football table instead. They're brilliant fun, much better than snooker, and without the cues swinging all over the place and smashing the house up.

Folding ones flip up against the wall too :0)
