I thought you was having download problems, sounds like it's a phone problem, sorry can't help with that, but I hope you get it sorted,

Thanks, l have tried all manner of different things, even downloading from a differant search engine. But every time I get past the bio metrics page, same error every time ffs!

All sorted!
I gave up trying to get the Curve Wallet app to work, so I went with Revolut instead. Pretty straight forward and quick to set up, a few verifications required as you would expect, then within the hour, a new account was set up and a digital debit card issued. Then I added £20 to the Revolut account just to cover me for a couple of cups of tea and to see how it works.

I assume that you could probably link your own debit card to the Revolut account instead of transferring money in, but we'll see how it goes first.

Finally added that virtual card to Garmin Pay and away we go!

I wanted a smart watch to track exercise stuff. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell they all want to download an "app" to the smartphone I don't own, and connect to some remote server for... something.

Both are a hard "no."

I bought an inexpensive smart watch anyway, just to see what functions it would have without internet connectivity. None, as it turned out. It doesn't even do "watch." I guess it gets its time off the phone as well.

A few smart watches have an optional desktop app that runs in Windows or MacOS. I don't own any machines that run either of those, nor would I install skeevy software onto them if I did.

Most people don't care about spewing their personal information to internet randos, but I make a hobby of denying them that.

Oh well! Your choice, but imo you are missing out on a lot of data tracking for your exercise routines.

Love my stats. Having had a stinking cold the last couple of days my watch is showing high stress, breathing and heart rate both up too.

Has your HRV been down as well?

My Garmin said mine dropped right down when I had a virus at the end of September.

I haven’t read all the replies cos late to the party but has anyone mentioned amazfit watches , they do different ones for whatever you want . I have one that records activity and posts on strava though I don’t know if it would allow you to put strava on watch or even if you got a better model that might - maybe worth doing some research on them - I know the battery life is amazing on mine - about 3 weeks in between charges

I had a brief period of owning an Amazfit T-Rex 2. Whilst it presents good value for money I found it wasn’t accurate enough for my needs. It was around 5% out on distance and pace and I couldn’t rely on it for my training plan at the time.

If you think battery life is amazing on the Amazfit, give COROS a try. You’ll be blown away.
