I saw it last night and agree that it was a very good film. There is no doubt that it is skilfully made, a real craftsman at work. To be admired for that alone. I personally thought it was a simple 'rags to riches, boy meets girl, looses girl, finds her again, lives happily ever after' story - all in a kind of homage to Bollywood. Very very clever.
I would, however, take any 'social comment' with a HUGE pinch of salt. it's easy to view it as such but I don't think you ought.
I personally felt a tad manipulated, by a skilled craftsman admittedly, so for that reason I couldn't rate it as a great film. Hugely enjoyable though.
