Saw Slumdog Millionaire last night and it was absolutely fantastic. It was original, vibrant, had a great cast and fantastic sound track, and kept me gripped from start to finish.

It was also a brilliant demonstration of how you can make a socially aware film that will appeal to a wide audience.

Slumdog Millionaire is streets ahead of anything that has come out of Hollywood in the last year and it will be a crime if it doesn't get the Oscar for best picture.

Possibly a little early to say given that the year is only 18 days old;)

A very good film. I saw it last night as well. I do not know if I would put it up there with the best I have seen. But, very entertaining and a good night out.

I agree with Gavin, It's well made, nicely shot, socially perseptive, a really good film, however There was no big element of surprise in it! Within the first few minutes it was obvious a. The main character won the money and b. that he would probably get the girl too, the story was nicely told.:headshake:

I loved it - absolutely brilliant film.

But not as good as the film I saw this afternoon - "I've loved you so long". French number but absolutely awesome. In the proper meaning of the word. Subtle performances that literally took my breath away. One of the best films I've EVER seen! Go see it!

Saw it on Saturday and thought it was fantastic.

Nice to go and see a film that both Mrs G and I thought the same!

Don't worry sir!

It's a common misconception as his first 2 films were Shallow Grave and Trainspotting. Both based in Edinburgh. Both were written by John Hodge (obviously Trainspotting was only a screenplay adaptation) who is Scottish and Andrew MacDonald the producer who is also Scottish! so people think Danny Boyle is.

Anyway, what's on the menu tonight?

I thought he was scottish.

Oh well.

I'm sure he won't mind.

The book (Q andA) was serialized on the World service some time ago and I'm sure that when he eventually found the girl she had just died of drugs and drink. There, that saves you going to see it
