Hogg is easily player of the tournament.
Oh, I think Itoje might give 'im a run for his money. Might even show 'im a clean pair of heels. :okay:

I suspect both will go, Hogg is a more versatile player and could fit in any where across the back 3. In fact there is going to be a real scrap for back 3 positions - Brown, Watson, North, Visser, Hogg, Halfpenny,Williams, Carney, Zebo, Trimble could all hope for a seat on the plane.

Brown is staying at home for me. Full backs Halfpenny and Hogg plus Zebo as he can cover wing. Wings Watson, North, Trimble. I'd be tempted with Nowell if he can recover his form and also Ashton. Can I take Abendanon too as it's not about England selection?

I wonder what Marlers elbow in Evans face will be. Along with the race citing for calling Samson Lee "gypsy boy"

Autocrect has Marler as Mauler ! Apt

Am surprised Hartley has not been carded. Pleasantly actually. Maybe he has grown up and got some sense .

well Gatland has lost credibility with his comments about the racial abuse given to Samson Lee. its not Banter. tells you something about the In Zid mentality doesn't it.

what is the old joke - want to see UK in 50 yrs time look at the US now, want to see UK 50 Years ago look at In Zid now.

It wasn't seen at the time though, unlike Francis' half hearted feint at a gouge which was seen but poorly dealt with.

I thought they did quite well with Francis actually.

Bottling the decision to red card him?

nope, correct decision was made based on the footage avavilable for review at time. Was deemed not deliberate but reckless. hence dealt with by reversal of penalty following further investigation which led to a citing.

Hence the Marler elbow into evans face going for citing as ref missed it at time.

Rubbish. It was a cop out excuse. Lack of extra camera angles etc.... What where they hoping to see? A reverse angle so they can see if the fingers on his right hand were crossed hoping he didn't get caught?

The ball was out of the ruck, his left hand going into it had but one intention.

same as Mike Brown boot on an irishmans head then ...........

and i do beleive they ran the VT several times to see if was a red- ref and TMO both deemed inconclusive if deliberate. hence time for reflection later away form pressure of match.

correct decision and good refereeing.

as the citing comitte have judged it was a ban they could have given 12 weeks minimum as thats the STARTING point, however they have taken mitigationg and agrravating circumnstances and given 8 weeks - that says soemthing about how "deliberate"it was.

having been in front of citing commitees they don't mitigate lightly !

I can't explain why Francis' hand was where it was but he isn't a dirty player so I struggle to believe it was intentional. Funny how many people seem to 'know' 100% that it was intentional.

If I remember correctly the ref actually said something along the lines of "I can't see it clearly from here, yellow card and let the citing committee have a closer look" or words to that effect.
