Looking at the Miche has led me to finding some Halo aeroage ones that look quite interesting, I think those two are top of my list for now along with the PlanetX.

Like I said it is only a bit of a scouting mission so far, will see how the stock ones hold up over the next few weeks :okay:

My first post read Not sure of your budget but these are the best I was not suggesting them for a commuter or anything else specifically and the "not sure of your budget" referred to the cost, obviously. I have had them on my fixed wheel Masi for 4 years and they remain true in spite of some awful road surfaces. I ride on 25 mm Clement tyres with no problem and since the OP was asking for alternatives to hand built I offered these from my own personal experience which you seem to think has no currency compared to stuff you appear to be making up.

I also know Potsy personally and I don't think blingy Ellipse would have been any answer. I wouldn't use them myself other than track. I have 3 sets of Mavic wheels but I wouldn't run them on my commuter. Downside is bespoke spokes that need ordering and aren't an easy fix. I run wheels that are easily repaired. The Mich X-Press runs easily available spokes if needed and standard sealed bearings.

Manchester's road are crap. I've tested a fair amount off rims now on my fixed.... My personal choice of wheel is a Miche Primato hub, on a CXP33 rim. Not cheap hand built. But off the peg has to be Miche X-Press same hub but a deeper and slightly heavier rim.

Give it a rest Fossyant. You offer your plain old auntie wheels and snide in a remark about 'bling'. If this was a personal deal between Potsy and you why didn't somebody say before? Perhaps there was a need for something else on a FORUM assuming you are aware of the meaning.

I think these were one of the few I found, maybe it was @DaveR that recently bought some?

Interesting that in white they are £50 cheaper than the black ones.

Short listed :okay:

Yes I brought the Planet x AL30's, They're very nice, an improvement on the stock wheels.

Are they much lighter Dave?

I think I'll stick with the stock ones for now until something wears out as they seem ok to me, not that sure about the brakes though but might just get some koolsop pads and see how they are with those in.
If not I'm getting the long drop Shimano ones instead.

I didn't notice a big difference in weight but they're a lot nicer wheel, stiffer with better bearings, they roll very nicely, I noticed the improvement on the first ride.
