I learned to ride when I was 17!! I'd never had a bike as a child, never really wanted one.
I needed to get to work and the buses were awkward where I needed to go. So one weekend I took my brother's bike out of the shed and a couple of hours later and I was away.....it's amazing what determination and necessity makes you achieve.
I did have help from a mate who couldn't believe I'd never ridden a bike before.
It's never too late I believe.

Cheers
Phil

We haven't seen @sarahtheclarke since her original post, have we scared her off or is she still taking on board all the sound info?

I started very recently and it's the best thing I've done in ages. Sometimes I go for a ride out and don't notice how far I've went until it's time to get home lol..... just go for it and do as much or as little as you like, once you get going you'll love it !!

Give a man a fish and feed him for one day...

Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime.

It's a fantastic skill and I would be certain that you won't regret it. Stabilisers on!!!

Do it!
You will not look back....
Nooo, please look back from time to time, especially when turning

25 is no age. Learning to ride will give you all sorts of freedom, fitness wise, that running doesn't. We go off for a nice 30 miler and stop for coffee and cake in the middle. You can't do that out jogging. When I went running for 10 miles or so, I didn't have cake at the halfway point ever.

As others have said, many councils run schemes that will teach you to ride a bike. Have you any cycling friends? someone who will show you the basics and maybe go out on some rides with you as you gain confidence?

It's a great sport/hobby/pass time. Great fun and social if you want it to be. Just go for it and welcome to the club.
