I did similar in a Hostel in Auckland once. I was very drunk, so drunk that I didn't actually realise I was drunk. There was a sign in the kitchen that read "Please help yourselves to fresh herbs on the roof balcony". They had also put some potted herbs next to the sign. I was stood in front of 5 or 6 people, and tore off some of the fresh herbs and ate them. They then pointed out that those herbs were plastic ones (just to go with the sign). My idea of not looking like a fool was to carry on chewing on the plastic herbs, pretending that I thought they were real
