The only thing to consider is do them shoes come with cleats? I had to ask on Wiggle whether their M520's came with them - it took about 2 weeks for anyone to answer (grrr) - theirs do, but my eBay ones didn't. Factor in another another fiver for cleats (again, got mine from eBay) and its still cheaper than Wiggle.

Getting my first road bike tomorrow, ive been looking for my first pair of clipless shoes/ pedals.
ive decided not to go all in straight away so im going for http://www.sportsdirect.com/muddyfox-tour-tbs100-sn20-144018 so i can get off and walk places.

what pedals would i need for these? bearing in mind i dont like spending more money than needed.

thanks

looks like those shoes will take a two-bolt cleat fitting, so any of the popular MTB-type pedals will do the job, like Shimano SPD, Time Atac, Look Quartz and loads of others. The 520 SPDs will do fine and can be bought for peanuts.

My only question would be your choice of shoes. They might have the 'appearance' of cycling shoes, but that doesn't mean they're up to the job. You might be better off spending a bit more and getting some which might serve you better for longer...

Cycling shoes do not come with cleats. Cleats come with whichever pedals you buy.

Is the postage free as well on ebay? Because by the time you factor in cleats and postage you're getting a bit closer to the Wiggle prices. I'll definitely concede that Wiggle aren't the cheapest around from a dedicated cycle website though. I'd aim for £22+- for everything delivered.

The shimano are the only ones I've had any experience with. There are lots more choices out there but I'm not in a position to recommend any - I guess it's personal preference.

Re: the shoes, I was advising under the premise that the OP had already made the decision. It all depends on what you're going to be using the bike for. I know someone with a very similar pair, but a dhb version and he uses them as a pub shoe for when we cycle there and for low mileage rides with walking involved. If however it's going to be more serious cycling then I'd probably recommend something a bit more fit-for-purpose.

ok, I'll bite. No need for several pages. Just show me one link to an ebay ad for a pair of cycling shoes that are supplied new in the box, complete with SPD-type cleats.
haha love a good bite
For the record I can't understand why shoes would be sold with cleats. What are the odds that they'd fit your pedals?!
