Shoes for dodgy feet

There is no doubt, I have dodgy feet, especially when it comes to shoes as solid as cycling shoes (actually ski boots were also nigh on impossible but that's another story!).

The first problem is a very high instep. I went to my local shop and the didn't have a single pair that I could even do up. They only had the Velcro strap shoes and my I step was so high that the Velcro couldn't reach back across the foot to attach properly. So I went to another shop where I found a pair of Giro's. They aren't the best looking shoes but at least they fit.

The problem I have now is that my toes curl slightly to the extent that the 'knuckles' on my 3rd toe on both feet is rubbed raw. So I need a pair of shoes that not only accommodates the nigh arch but has enough room/padding to protect my toes.

Most shops have too small a selection so I could use to find a shop with a large selection somewhere in the south of England (inc London as I'm there from time to time) and some recommendations from anyone else who has suffered from the same problems.

Thanks.

Shops in the London area with a good selection of (higher end) road shoes include Condor on Grays Inn Road and Sigma in Hampton Wick. You might want to click and collect a number of pairs for the latter, they stock Giro

Thanks guys, I'll look into the Sidi and check out the London stores. I should be up there in a couple of weeks.

Cheers!

I have feet that seem to get wider the longer I ride!....have been in some right pain at times.........bought a pair of these and first ride out was 110miles long with more hills than you can shake a stick at! (Etape du Dales) and no more painful feet!!:bicycle:
