It says it's "valid on new gift memberships only" but surely all gift memberships are new ones unless you've bought someone one before? It's not clear to me what they'll do if you bought an existing member a new gift membership: when the previous-member recipient signs in to their new membership, would CTC t/a CUK really chase them or the giver for the 30% discount?Discount is only to attract new members.
I went a few steps into the process to see if they could be trying to detect gifts being given to existing members and it does ask for the recipient's name, address, email, birthdate and more, so maybe they could. Interestingly, there's nothing on that page warning the giver that they should have the recipient's consent before handing over their personal data. I think that could land CTC t/a CUK in trouble with the Information Commissioner if anyone pushed it.
