Shimano M520 pedals - any alternatives worth considering

I need some new pedals for the road bike. I have M520's and the bearings have gone.

Is it worth considering any alternatives?

Note I won't entertain SPD's as I have too much invested in MTB shoes.

Your peds are SPD's

Upgrade to the XT's or the XTR's, they both have sealed bearings.
Have the XT's on my commute bike and the XTR's on my nice bike.

XT'S are now 6 years old the XTR's are now 4 years old. Have never had to service, take apart etc
Well worth the money.

Probably will go for the M540's - £30 from Merlin, will price match at evans tomorrow.
