Shimano Lock Ring

I've got a spare set of wheels which I'm setting up for wet use. The cassette is a Shimano HG 50 12-25t and I need an appropriate lock ring.

I've seen reference to a Shimano IG 12t lock ring; is this the same thing or is it compatable?

As far as I was aware you only get Shimano and Campaq lock ring tools these two don't mix but every shimano and Sram cassette I have removed have been fine with the generic shimano type.

I think as others have said Shimano lock rings are universal. If you're near Leeds I have a couple in the bits box amd you can have one for nowt.

Just found out my company is merging with a Leeds based one, so I might just do that.
