Wow, who'd have thought eh? I've also been suffering the GRX brake rub issue, I resorted to sanding a small amount of the brake pads to create extra clearance to the caliper, still not perfect but at least bearable, guess what I'll be doing in the very near future?

Amazing, unthinkable (?) and avoidable in one flap-tastic hit…….

Balfes Bikes kindly and swiftly refunded me for the costs incurred for this brake fiasco - after I wrote them an email today with pictures, receipts, facts found on Google etc attached:

Goes nicely with the refund I received from them after complaining about poor delivery service, un-kept promises, shoddy communication etc….

Bikes getting cheaper by the day. Any wonder there’s no money in being a Bicycle retailer 🙄🤣😉

Big question is 'Do the brakes work now ?'

Great, what would have been happening is that the partial blockage would have meant the cylinder was drawing more from the reservoir instead of drawing from the brake caliper and retracting the pads.

Yea absolutely - I reckon so ! I’m not out of pocket……as such ( Travel, my time, researching the solution not ‘paid for’) - but that’s life. Brakes are 110%, I’ve learnt something, my LBS got some work. So - It’s not all gloomy 😁
Plus the mechanic at your LBS now knows what to do to cure the issue if it crops up again. (providing you told him)
