Shimano Alivio 24 Speed STI brifters - crap?

There seem to be a number of these at what seems like a very cheap price. Is there a reason? Are they crap?

I wouldnt hesitate, sw'pea.
I have the 7 speed versions on my Trek...been absolutely fine.

I've not used that particular one but all of the other Shimano shifters I've used have been absolutely fine and given no trouble at all. A drop of oil into them now and then and forget they're there.

Probably a batch of STI shifters manufactured for the OEM market, there will be nowt wrong with them except that they won't arrive in a fancy box.
