I think I'm right when I say (someone who knows better: shout) that for the LH STI more or less any triple capable mechanical STI will do. The cable pull is the same or roughly and the trim allows the rider to make it work entirely satisfactorily (so Sora/Tiagra/105). Even the 47 series (uses 11sp cable pull) which (for the right one) will not be compatible with the 5700 RD.
Of course that will mean the LH and RH STI's will not match, which may too much for the aesthete or OCD sufferer to bear.
Imho, the reason LH STIs go more often that RH ones [citation required] is that the FD lever ratio (angles far more acute) is less advantageous and there's more cable tension and shock release of tension involved.

I’ve ordered a new silver lever assembly from SJS cycles, I am a little OCD so do need both levers matching!
I should have bought an E clip tool but didn’t realise SJS had them until after I placed my order, two small screwdrivers may work?

Edit - Bought the E clip tool.

I’ve found a matching silver lever assembly at SJS for £40. Has anyone swapped these and are they complicated?
My local bike shop may be able to do it for me?

Did you get chance to take a look at this? It seems that the lever should be pretty straightforward to replace, even if its guts are pretty complex. I struggled to get the retaining / pivot pin out of my R7020s though and can't see anything obvious holding it in.. although there must be something. Maybe the circlip you mention that I've failed to spot..

Barnet,
A quick update - I wasn’t confident doing this repair so took it to the local bike shop, Cyclesense in Tadcaster, they replaced the lever for me and charged £22, great service.

Did you practice on the old lever, once the replacement was fitted?

Did they swap over inner and outer cables at the same time? usually makes a difference to shifting and not expensive.
