I'm wondering if anyone has changed or upgraded their m191 crankset to something slightly higher spec. The teeth on the chai rings won't take long to need replacing and I'm thinking that why put obsolete parts on a newish bike.

I've checked on the specs of the alivio m411 crankset and the specs are almost identical but would rather the better informed confirmed:

Bottom bracket- both un26
Spindle length - 122.5 versus 123 on the m411
Shell width - both 68mm
Chainline - 50mm versus 47.5 on the m411

I'm current using a tourney front derailler but if need be that'll change as well

Thanks, kevin

I've just bought, a shimano m191 complete crankset and front derailleur plus a kmc x8-99 chain for £32 delivered from bike.discount.de

Better than the price, you can't buy this crankset anywhere anymore so now I have a direct replacement without any of the chow, happy days
