Can you share it the other way? Make sure the ride is public, and paste the URL into FB status. That works with strava rides.

Strange, I just tried it again and it worked. So I tried on the ride I did last night, and it didn't. I made the first one public, some time ago (Saturday). Last nights ride, I just made public. I wonder If it takes some time to "go public".
