Shared cycle pedestrian path width

Does anyone here know the minimum width that a shared cycle / pedestrian path should be ?

My workplace have installed one and it seems to narrow in my mind.

I'd say more so in the workplace. Too much H&S legislation.

I've been thinking about this thread purely as a cyclist, but as i once walked past a chap outside the MoD building who was absolutely incensed that I wasn't keeping to my left.

I Ignored his shouts and gesticulations all the way to St James's Park tube... I do wonder if he was MoD staff!

Newcastle Station is weird. They have 'stay left' on the walkway ramps but not when you reach the upper level.

People then ignore causing chaos at busy periods. (Pedestrian)

If it's a Northern staffed/run station, it's always keep to the left.

stretches of the canal tow-path, especially out of town can be around 10 inches wide thanks to waist high grasses

Even worse, wheeling ramps need to be to the right of the cyclist if the edges aren't going to bend derailleurs, but they install the ramps on the outside edge of the stairs instead of by the centre handrail, forcing cyclists to walk on the right to avoid trashing their bikes.

Why aren't stations "walk on the right" like highways anyway?

Having cycled on a few like that I agree, these paths are best described as bimbly exploring tracks you need a suitable bike for, and not a route designed to work as a shared space like what the OP is asking about.

The majority of folk being right-handed, use their right arm/hand for their luggage. Left hand is then used to hold the handrail.
