Going along an open cycle friendly road, saw two other cyclists coming towards me chatting, one of them no handed;me and them are the only people on the road, no- hander starts drifting towards me. I can now see why he's no handed, he's rolling a cigarette!
just as he's about to crash into me I shout "watch yourself jesus christ or words to that effect , "eh sorry mate" was the reply; I despair................
Oh No! (was that you I almost bumped in to?) - (only joking) Bad form (cyclists smoking) not looking in the right direction! No hands on bars is OK when you need something from your rear pockets, or you need both hands to place something in to your rear pockets! I'm guilty of riding hands free when necessary.

I'm with Arch, cycling no handed is stupid an inconsiderate just think how you hurt the feelings of those of us who cant do it

One advantage of riding with no hands is that it gives you the chance to rest your back a little so I do it occasionally but only if the road ahead is clear. It does no harm.
Also, I'd like to join the list of pedants that are correcting your grammar. You should have said he was on a crash course with "ME", not MYSELF.
MYSELF is a reflexive pronoun and should be used when refering back to 'I' when "I" is the SUBJECT of the crash course (the one about to do the crashing). EG "I was on a crash course, myself".
In your sentence, above, you should use the objective pronoun - ME - because you were the OBJECT of the crash course (the one about to be crashed into).
