Hello

So, I've got a Wiggle voucher for 50 quid and really there isn't much I need that'll hit that sort of price and be much use to me or my bike, but I've come up with a couple of things and wondering what would be the most use.

One is a decent hi viz waterproof/windcheater, and the other is some dual platform road pedals with SPD on one side and flat platform on the other.

As I am planning to do some long day/weekend riding over this spring and summer, which of these two items would, in principle, come in more useful?

Thanks

Stu

If you are going out at night I would highly recommend the Hi-Viz. You can never have too much visibility at night!

If night riding isn't your thing then I'd go for the pedals.

If you're still unsure I'll buy the voucher off you for £30 :-)

Personally I'd go for the hi-viz. I found dual sided pedals a pita, whichever shoes I had on, the pedal was never round the right way!

That said, hopefully in spring/summer you won't need a jacket? Maybe something seriously light like a Pocket Rocket or Montane velo (H20 if in the North West / Scotland)

Yep, A530s. Are they any good?

Also thought about a carbon seatpost, there's one with zero offset which I could do with as I think I'm overreached atm. Having only ridden alu and carbon wrapped alu seatposts before, is a full carbon one worth the outlay?

Cheers

Another thought was the conti ultra gatorskins in a 28mm width... reasoning it might make longer rides a touch mo' comfy than the stock 25s I've got on my Felt. Would it make much difference?

They do look good. I use a pair of A520 on one bike, and A600 on another. They are the same principle but without the grip on the underside for flat shoes. Having said that, the "grip" doesn't look all that convincing, but if you aren't looking to shed every last gram I would say they'd be pretty practical if you do want to ride to the shops in your carpet slippers............
