My 13 year old daughter has a Raleigh bike, we bought it about four years ago and it is now, really, too small for her. She could get away with an adult size bike now as she is nearly my height.
however, she doesn't cycle that much, and, quite frankly, I won't be buying an expensive brand new bike for he, as she won't use it much.
She does enjoy the occasional cycle, and likes coming out with me. Yesterday, her bike could barely keep up with my shiny new one, even when I was keeping slow - when she went on my new bike, she could easily double her speed, so she is capable.
Where and what should I be looking for, do you think, if I was to upgrade her bike? After trying mine she is desperately hoping the C2w scheme continues so that next year I will choose a new one and she will get my trek! But that's a long time away, and I think getting her something to use right now would probably encourage her cycle use and maybe her fitness levels.
Plus, I very much enjoy her company when out cycling, but at the moment we are very mismatched.
I probably would only be wanting to spend a modest amount, so second hand would be the road to go down - any thoughts on how not to buy a pup?
Or, do any of you in the central Scotland area have a bike for sale?
