Can any one help me?

I purchased a second hand mountain bike at the weekend it has only two identifiers on it PZ and Thor with a picture of the Norse God.

When I have done a search on it I can only find PZ racing and Thor equipment?

Can anyone give me some info on its origins, I'm guessing its about 5 years old.

Thanks in advance xx(

If the logo is like this one http://www.thor-bicycles.com/ you might get somewhere in your search. That website is dead, but if you google 'Thor bicycles' looking for websites in Portugese (it's in the advanced options) and use the google translation facility you might find out a bit more.

If it isn't that brand it is most likely to be a generic far eastern mountain bike which could appear with any one of hundreds of different 'brand' stickers on the frame and have been sold through garden centres, ebay and motor accessories shops. They always make up butch sounding brand names - 'destroyer', 'impaler' etc. If it is a steel frame it is probably quite cheap and nasty. If it is aluminium the clue to the quality of the bike will be in the bits that are attached to the frame. For exmple the gears, if they are good quality Shimano (Deore. LX or XT) or SRAM (X.something) the frame may be quite a good one.

All that matters is that you like it and weren't ripped off. However, if you find you need to upgrade it for serious mountain biking, you might be better off keeping it as a pub bike and getting a better starting base when you can afford it.

I think Peugeot did a "P" range of MTB's with the second letter indicating an upgrade as they went through the alphabet but they didn't get to a PZ - so it sounds as though yours could well be a Far Eastern jobbie pretending to be a Peugeot.

Thanks

It is a rectangular (About 4" x 2") Alluminium frame with the TIG welding promonant, the gears are Shimano (Light Action SIS), The brakes are C-Star, the rear suspension is a Burner DV-6 1000lbs, the wheels are ZAC 19 (Weinmann) and the seat/support is a KALIN

Are these good components?
