Charge spoon come highly recommended but regardless of which seat you choose you will have to break your "sit bones" in which usually mean some discomfort for a week or two.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Indeed, its all personal depending on your body , sit bone width, ride style etc .
Generall the more upright you ride the rounder /wider the saddle although saddle position can play a very important part , if its too high /low or to far fore/aft can affect comfort .
I assume you have padded shorts ? , i can ride my MTB with the family in just normal clothes and its fine although i wouldnt like to do any serious riding without them.( the shorts that is )

Brooks cambium C17 is on my Xmas list. As above , I think they take a couple months or so to bed in. Made from vulcanised rubber with no padding.
My dilemma is which colour ?

A Brooks made from rubber  Sacrilege !!!! Buy a B17 - it's cheaper and better [leather] and will adapt to fit your bum {OK I know some don't like 'em but if you are buying a Brooks get a real one].

I've read many an article and purchased a couple of highly rated seats and found them the most uncomfortable thing I have ever sat on. For the price the Charge Spoon is a good choice to start with as relatively cheap, good looking and for me comfortable enough.

To a certain extent time improves tolerance but if you are in severe discomfort you should decide what it is that's wrong with saddle you have (i.e where does it hurt) and then look for something that will address that particular issue.
I had a Brooks saddle and suffered (not the seatbone area). This was replaced with a saddle with a cut out and the problem was solved.
