You do not often need a lighter bike to do that. Aero is sometimes more important.

I have been toying with the idea of an aero bike but they are a bit more than I can afford right now. We have just bought a new house in the UK ready to move back from Spain its taken its toll in money terms with a new kitchen and bathroom extention down stairs plus all new doors and frames, its been rewired with a new conservatory on the way which SWMBO needs.. lol.. But in 3/4 months time I might just do that when the building stops..

Mine's a http://www.bike24.com/p233871.html I've changed the clamp to a standard one recently so its a bit heavier now, so you can keep the prize
BTW I never paid anything near that for it! That would be silly!

Yes, it's clear that's where the weight has been saved on mine. I'm not sure I wouldn't prefer a few more grams and the security of a normal clamp.

I think Selle Italia have quietly discontinued their monolink saddles anyway.
