Does the same still hold for a mountain bike?

For a mountain bike it is partly personal preference, due to moving round the bike more a little lower can help.

I've found if you havent got a measure/ scale on the seatpost fit it slightly too low then wrap a piece of insilation or masking tape where it contacts the frame.

Makes it much easier to gauge how far up you are adjusting the post.
