If it is wobbly as in too loose, slacken off the two bolts that clamp the stem onto the fork riser and then gently tighten the recessed allen bolt in the top of the stem until you have removed the play. Now tighten the 2 stem bolts and the wobbling should have gone. If not, you may have lost some bearings from either the top or bottom of the headset. Also worth checking that you have enough spaces on the stem riser to ensure that the top cap does not actually come into contact with the top.of the steerer when tightened - as if it does, it cannot take out all the slack.

thanks will check this i didn't know about the stem and cap touching the steerer so there i have learnt one thing! :biggrin:
with out looking i can't swear but i think there as a gap between the cup thingy or race or what ever on the bottom of the headtube on the frame and the cup race thingy on the bottom of the steerer?

Looks like a traditional headset. Integrated / semi-integrated require the correct recesses in the head tube, so you can convert.
