SE Lager 2012 vs SE Lager 2013?

Anyone have thoughts on these bikes? I have found the 2012 online for £275 (50% off) and am very tempted.

The 2012 is Cr-Mo whereas the 2013 is Hi-Ten, this makes the 2012 the better frame, correct?

FWIW they're not my cup of tea.

To tell you the truth I'd buy a second hand Specialized Langster myself for that money, there's at least a dozen on ebay right now.

The SE bikes seem to be more style over function, and there are simply better bikes out there IMO.

I've been reading mixed reviews, most people say they are good for the price, but the BB is crappy and the freewheel can be cheapo too. Apparently they are owned by Fuji and the frame is the same as a Fuji Feather or Fuji Track (Don't recall which).

The only thing that worries me about the Langster is the handlebars, they look like track drops or something - I'm not sure I'd get on with them on the road, if not I'd have to replace em with conventional drops.

Does the Langster have a Road bike geometry or is it more track like? I want something I can use over distance in comfort on the road.

I like that it has 2x cage mounts, that's a big plus.

What happened to make them desirable?
