scuff help?

If your foot is contacting the frame then you need to look at your set up - it shouldn't do that - yuo can some scuffing on crank from shoes but you shouldn't be hitting the frame

It's God's way of telling him that matt black paint is a sin.

Hiwhen i went to put my leg over the cross bar my foot rubbed frame thats all and marked it with rubber from my shoe must be sensitive matt paint to rubs. i spoke to few bike shops they said red ant cleaner is good like guy on here said. I can't believe rubber from a shoe scuff would be so hard to rub out. it looks bit like a crayon mark on the matt paint shows up well. If i can't rub it off i will buy a sticker to cover it and Im wearing fluffy slippers from now on when rideing this bike

Hi i tryed wd40 today on rubber scuff mark. Tryed leaving oil on and rubbing area. Mark still there was told by few riders in bike shop try something called t cut? Anyone no about this product it's for cars

Great for making things shine, not so good at making things Matt.

Hi ok There must be something thats removes a rubber scuff from matt paint never would though rubber from shoe would scuff paint I will get a sticker if can't find anything else.

Don't use T-cut - your matt black finish will go grey. Shiny bikes only.

Try Mr Sheen or washing up liquid.

I'll stick with Shiny.

PS lint free kitchen cloths - don't use a duster cloth etc - you'll get fibres stuck to the finish.

No it's not really coarse, hard to describe. It is Melamine Foam apparently. I use them to remove scuff marks from painted surfaces, and pencil marks from floor tiles when cutting/laying them, and scuff marks on tiles, also pencil marks when cuttting planed timber. Very effective. 'Sponge' needs to be damp, but not wet. But try it on a hidden unimportant area first and see if it affects the finish. If you rub too hard on painted emulsion for example it will eventually remove the paint. Can also buy from Poundland etc.

Hi tryed wd40 again with a soft cloth rubbing scuff looking much better quite impressed. Wounder what's gt85 would be like? Anyone tryed it on scuffs?
