I reckon a snail would be slower- less streamlined.
This'll have to be your next test 3BM.
The definite study of comparative slug/snail speeds.
Your treatise on the varying slipperyness of their different slimes will make riveting reading.

Yes yes yes, this is all very well and good, but what I want to see is what happens if you put him on a rolling treadmill (a very slow one granted)with a pair of balsa wings....will he take off ?
