I can beat that. LEJOG 08 - 6 punctures just cycling through Glasgow.... what's that, about 20 miles from east to west ? Great city - 5h1t roads. Potholes and nail capital of the world !

My Dawes Galaxy came with Marathons (not plus). I think I have done about 5000km on them in the last year and I've had three punctures.
The first two were flint or glass sharp end in that had been hammered into the tyre with every rotation until I noticed - both on the front. The last one is unexplained, pin prick hole but no obvious cause, not a pinch flat on the rear. Perhaps they are starting to wear thin now, but there's still tread on them.
Three in 5000km - I'll take the hit instead of the weight.
