Are you hoping the trainer tyre will prevent future punctures ? Just use the tyre you have unless it's really knobbly.

I've done thousands of miles on normal tyres with no issues on the turbo.

Tyre seems fine
Very strange to get a puncture on the trainer. Maybe it was causing too much friction so I'll re calibrate it
