This might come under the heading of "the bleedin' obvious", but what I want is an adaptor which will allow me to use my car tyre inflator, which has a Schrader type OUTPUT (in other words it screws onto a Schrader valve), to put air into my bike tyre which has a Presta valve INPUT. Sorry to shout, but a quick google brings up a gazzillion results, but it's almost always never clear which is output or input. They just say "Schrader to Presta" or the other way round. I think I can tell from the pictures, but I'm not sure.

Has anybody got anything that does what I describe please?

Yer. Brass screw on adaptor to the Presta valve, lets the Schroeder ‘nozzle’ bite on. I keep one in the under saddle bag, and one with the foot pump I use for inflating tyres. My local Boyes Stores has them in car pump adaptor kits, or with flexible bike pump connectors. Apparently Amazon do them two for £3m:

Thanks folks, have ordered a couple of the Amazon ones.

Sorry if I appeared a bit dense, but maybe you can see what I mean about the descriptions? "Presta to Schrader" (or vicky vercky) only makes sense if they say which is the pump end and which the valve end. And there do seem to be ones that convert the other way, as far as I can tell from looking at the threads.

This is all to avoid taking my very nice SKS Renkompressor on holiday, when we're going to be very very space limited in the car.
