I grew up next to some MOD land used for military training. They did a lot of filming there as well, it's definitely been used for Red Dwarf (I served the crew lunch in the pub I worked at) and Jurassic World, and Die Another Day was filmed in a similar location closer to Aldershot I think, doubling as the Korean DMZ.

But does anyone remember Run The Gauntlet, the game show from the 80s? That was the cool one when we were kids. It was all mad stunts and races filmed in the woods where I used to ride my BMX and on the lake where I used to go kayaking and sailing. Cos it was MOD land it was full of trenches and foxholes, this huge crater on the top of the hill and what were supposedly emergency landing areas for Harriers. Ideal for that sort of show, and for BMXing.

Back in early 1980s I was living in Ladbroke Grove, and remember watching them filming an episode of Minder along the canal towpath, next to our local the Narowboat (sadly long gone).

In Croydon these days which is used regularly for tv/ movie filming

Brassic is often filmed in Accrington and other east Lancs towns. I admit to having a bit of a grumble the other year when I couldn't park near the retro shop I work in, in Accrington. They'd cordoned off surrounding streets while they filmed scenes in shops on the same street as the retro clothing shop. Thinking about it I could've been an extra in the scenes. 🤔
