OK, so it wasn't really him, just someone else on a road bike and HTC jersey.

Anyway, there I was trying and achieving a PB on my 15 mile circular route (beat the hour for the first time, woo hoo!), when I was casually passed by aforesaid geezer.

I was, standing on the pedals trying to maintain momentum going uphill into Pytchley (Northants), when he cruised past with a cheery, "All right mate, how you doing?", before swooping down the hill, up the other side and round the corner, not to be seen again. The way he seemed to be using no effort whatsoever made me realise how far I have to go - and somewhat took the gloss off my PB.

He was probably on a pedelec.
