OK, so it wasn't really him, just someone else on a road bike and HTC jersey.

Anyway, there I was trying and achieving a PB on my 15 mile circular route (beat the hour for the first time, woo hoo!), when I was casually passed by aforesaid geezer.

I was, standing on the pedals trying to maintain momentum going uphill into Pytchley (Northants), when he cruised past with a cheery, "All right mate, how you doing?", before swooping down the hill, up the other side and round the corner, not to be seen again. The way he seemed to be using no effort whatsoever made me realise how far I have to go - and somewhat took the gloss off my PB.

It doesnt take the gloss off a personal acheivement.

Had a similar one a few years back. Riding up a big bridge here in southampton doing around 20mph upwards, uphill I got passed by an old man, white beard and shorts/sandals on an old upright fixie.

Or maybe it was Cav and when he got back to HTCHQ he said to Mark Renshaw "Had a nightmare overtaking some unfit looking geezer on Pytchley hill. Think i managed to hide the pain and put him away with a cheery "how you doing" as i went past . Steer clear of Pytchley if i was you Renners."

The bloke it the black is saying to the bloke in the blue. "im not being funny with you but id thought it would be harder to keep up with you than this. To be honest im slightly dissappointed. Nice helmet though".
