Well there's good news, read the BC site, they have come up with thousands to join with B&H council to repair and restore, and make the track safer, once that's done and meets proper safety standards then it appears everything will restart. Cycle racing can be risky, we all accept that, but in this litigious age obvious risk of making an innocent fall into a life changing injury, when it could have possibly been avoided, means all operators (usually councils) and insurers want to minimise tragic consequences of a mistake, as we would all wish, no doubt. Let's hope things are restored soon and some good racing results.

IIRC, I think the issue there was the exposed kerb stones around the outside edge of the track. New fence level with those and they should be good to go..

There were also a few cracks on the track surface when we rode around it , the grandstand has been allowed to fall into disrepair and the changing room under the stand IIRC was pretty basic and that was many years ago . It will be nice to see it back in action soon .

My mum used to race there in the early 1950s, and as a youngster a decade or so later we used to go along to watch the racing when we were staying with my grandparents.
