This be a heresey, but do we need a daily thread every day? Maybe have a ongoing daily thread for each day so we can what utter useless stuff we've been posting forever?

Sudden change in the weather, cloudy and a few spits of rain about. Spent a morning tinkering with disassembled bikes in shed. Trying to decide if I keep the old Cervelo frame as a spare, build it up with older parts and sell off for cheap, or build a decent thing to hang up and probably rarely use.

Coffee and lunch helped avoid more jobs. Did a turbo ride this afternoon, entirely offset by home cooked pizza for dinner.

Saw the 1999 full eclipse, planned it out, stayed over in Belgium as often is the case but went to the French coast near Boulogne, clear sky, full view. Yes, memorable.

Some serious incident going on this morning down in the lochside park over which I have The View. Lots of blue lights, ambulance, polis, fire engine and air ambulance landed. Staying well clear of that.

Afternoon all. Nice steady ride out with a friend on the gravel bikes on proper gravel. Tad cool to start with but soon warmed up pedalling. Nearly 30 miles done with no cake stop. Shock horror. Did manage a pig based butty though. Local bike shop fettled my brakes perfectly so very happy with them now. Beers with young oxo later.
