The only thing that is a bit wierd is that it looks like he just smashed it from the word go, there appears to be no easing in, possibly because the start was straight onto a hill.

They warm up before these rides, you know. If you were easing in to it, you'd lose by a country mile.

LOL! Ignorance a stong point of yours?

Pretty much any tester will tell you, don't go off too hard and to ease into the effort over the 1st few minutes (i.e. ride at below you planned race power for the 1st few minutes)!

It is not very likely you win a TT in the 1st mile, but you can definitely lose it in the 1st mile!

Maybe that's how the amateurs do it

Don't let the fact that you don't know much about a subject get in the way of expressing your opinion

Maybe a member of a grand tour squad is quite good at hitting his max right out of the blocks? If he does go over, he can recover much more quickly and by dropping his effort less than someone not as fit.

By someone not as fit, I mean you. Unless you are also a member of a pro grand tour squad. You certainly sound arrogant enough.

I love the way you're assuming that Rob and I are comparing Puccio's data with our own. You blunder on through making blindingly obvious sweeping statements which do nothing to make me revise my opinion of your understanding of the matter at hand.

Carry on.

Next time you're not posting crap on the internet, maybe do some reading around the definition of FTP, and how that applies to human biology.

Ah, I see what has happened here. This is what you think is your little fiefdom, and you cannot bear that anyone should make a lighthearted comment.

Then you cannot bear that I might defend what I said, even thought it was, as you say, blindingly obvious (though later you suggested that I was completely ignorant of the matter).

The next time I make a comment, I shall be sure to supply you with my credentials validating everything I say. After all, I'm sure everyone here is a professional sports scientist, not just people using information that can be picked up with 30 minutes of internet searching.

Cheers!
