Some of the VOR crews were feeling ill, they were in 12m seas... Puts my little yachting/ sea leg testing jaunt last year in some perspective...

I was interested that Steve White, one of the Vendee Globe competitors, is a bit worried he might bump into Reid Stowe in his concrete sailing boat as he approaches Cape Horn. That would cause a bit of a problem with his plans!

Yes, that 3D tour is neat thanks, not too sure about the swinging keel though. I like to keep the number of moving parts to a minimum.

Apparently the swinging keel makes a big difference so I suppose without one you would be at a disadvantage to the other boats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are the volvo 70's strictly one design, or do they work within a framework of measurements like a metre boat? In the first case they would all have swing keels, in the other there would be trade-offs involved.
