My Specialized Avator was comfy, i could spend hours on it.
Then, when I've put it on the fixed, i could go for an hour, or an hour and half and that would be it, my arse would kill. On longer rides of 2/3 or more hours, i wouldn't be able to find any spot on it where my bum would be comfy.
Im waiting for a B17N to arrive, bought it from 4F, so I'm hoping that this will help with my bum. If not, then i will try and Rolls after.
But im hoping the Brooks works, i do have narrow sit bones(but a big-ish bum, it isnt fat though! Its muscle)
The white saddle that came on my Giant was nice, but then that started to kill after a few hours.

After the width (should be wide enough to support your sit bones) consider shape - saddles tend to be flattish (like the Fizik Arione) or have a sort of "wave" shape (high at the back, low in the middle, maybe high at front again).

If you have a flat saddle, and are feeling that not enough weight is on your sitbones, maybe consider one with a wave type shape instead.

FWIW, I found an unpadded saddle v. uncomfortable when I rode with a rucksack (Prologo Nago PAS in my case) - riding without that weight on my back the saddle is just lovely, so factor how you carry your commuting stuff in too.

Folks, thanks for your suggestions and advice. I have a new bike coming in a couple of weeks so will try that saddle first as it's a lot different to my current steed/saddle combo.Admins - apologies for posting in the wrong section, didn't twig about the Accessories forum.

In absolute agreement here. It's the reason I decided to change one of my saddles, a flat one, for something with a dip/wave.

Be sure to include the SMP4Bike range in your considerations. I ride them on all my bikes now and I find them fantastic. I expect there will never be a single saddle that is perfect for everyone, but I found mine in these!

Be sure that you are fitted to your bike correctly, a good saddle in the wrong position is never going to be comfy
