best of luck , might have a costly ending , but let us know please
Hiya tried soaking in wd40 all night long, no go

Took it to local bike shop this afternoon he took my phone number we went for a walk up the shops he phoned me twenty minutes later "all done £12 . 50. " so it ended great , getting slime filled tubes the weekend so to avoid thorns i live in the outbacks here all country roads so they insist in cutting the hedges at times and theres thorns about, though i ride well out from the kerb i found it stops drivers sqeezing past without going over the white line, where i ride they have to cross the line and i find they go right over the other side of the road, seems if they r forced to cross that dreaded white line they go well over it .

Thanks for all your help and concern and it great to get that dratted post out at last.
Bikeshop said best to move the post every so often to avoid it getting stuck as they seem to do quite often.

The thought occurs that it may not have a seat post as such...
It may just be a continuation of the seat tube which is cut to size (with a small amount of adjustment at the saddle fitting).[/QUOte

It was the post alrigjt and as said its now out thankfully.

Turns out the post is alloy i thought carbon but evedently it is alloy sorry to have misled you all, just looked like alloy and as the frame etc is carbon guess i assumed the post was too.

Aluminium oxide takes up more space than aluminium, so the tiny gap between post and tube gets blocked. No amount of penetrating oil will remove the excess oxide, only brute force will work.
