Not sure if the saddle which came with my bike, Selle Italia Gel, is quite suitable.
After 5 or 6 rides on it, it am getting a bit of an ache, no chafing , just a pain in the butt in the area of the sit bones
Should I be considering a saddle fit and a new seat or give it a bit more time ?
I am riding quite upright at the moment, either on the top of the bars or the hoods,
And Is there anyone in se essex who does this service?

Specialized can measure your arse and do saddle returns, there's a concept store in Chelmsford

http://www.specializedconceptstore.co.uk/chelmsford-store

Otherwise, try a high end LBS than sells Fizik, they offer test saddles

Or you can persevere, 5 rides isn't many. Have you ensured your bike fit is correct?

Cheers,,
I looked at the Spesh website but it didnt mention saddle fits, might take a trip over there.
The fit is about as good as it can be without a proper fit, but I do need to check the saddle for and aft a bit closer.

Saddles aren't magical; you do have to contact it at some points. If you are just feeling it on your sit bones, it's very possible that your saddle is actually perfect for you: no pressure on the euphemistically named "soft tissues". I'd persevere for a couple of weeks, watching out for any sore points or boils and see how you get on.

Cycles UK in Basildon have got an Arseometer (isn't that what everyone calls them? It's a cross between the thing they used to use in kids' shoe shops and a mousemat wrist rest) so I'd assume that the branch on the London Road in Leigh do too. It simply measures your sit bones and that determines what width saddle you need. Bizarrely, actual arse width and sit bone spacing aren't directly correlated - I was pleasantly surprised!

Great, Thanks I will give them a try first , but I think I will persevere a bit longer , might be being a bit hasty .
