I was getting pain in my pressure points as the end of the bones down there, felt like I had been having some fun I didnt remember! Seems I just needed to build up the muscles that support me in the saddle and spending some time hovering rather than putting my whole weight on the saddle, I do have a gel saddle cover now but thats just luxury really.

Thankfully I've never had any problems, other than the initial sore bum when I first started.

I know you can get some gel saddle covers, so perhaps one of those in the interim might be useful until the new saddle is decided upon (I've seen some in Tesco, and Halfrauds probably has something).

I personally found the ladies gel saddle on my hybrid too "squishy" so I swapped it for a Brooks B17 (got one on the tourer and I really like them).

isn't anyone going to ask if the saddle is set up right?

right fore and aft and right nose up/down?

any saddle setup wrong will cause discomfort

Despite me hating gel saddles, my wife is an occasional cyclist (very occasional).... she bought an Aldi gel cover, to go on top of an existing saddle - she seems to find it ok.....

Less is more for me....
