Yep I love the model railway, i pretend it's my son's, have made model wooden ships in the past too.

Heavy plant too, wow, my brother owns a massey ferguson, I love driving machines, but not working on them. I find machinery lifeless, soulless and dead when it's turned off.

I am a sad old bugger and don't mind admitting it!;)

Mmmm nice cardy ;)

This pisses me off, the idea that cardigans are dad wear. What are the options?

When I was a teen indie kid, jumpers were OK, and almost a fashion statement in themselves. Picture echo and the bunnymen wearing baggy pulls.

But by the time your 25 then cardigans are the only option because they:

-allow more options for t-shirts, shirts
-can be done up accordingly for warmth
-don't muck your barnet up went you take it off or leave you with a flushed boatrace.

I have about 6 cardigans... ben shermans, chunky rollnecky ones... and no jumpers. Yet the attitude I see towards them is startling and sad.

The nice cardy bit is from an old jasper carrot sketch, the next thing you start to like as you get older is, "Mmm nice dog tooth slacks " ;)

What annoys me even further is all references in contemporary culture point towards the cardigan as being superior upper bodywear.

Look at the mods and ska-boys.... imagine them in jumpers. You can't. Jumpers were invented into popular music by punk bands such as the damned and pistols, in a very tongue in cheek way, and this was carried through to the new wave / indy scene.

If you ask me, the person responsible for the latest stupid jumper revival, especially with white t-shirts, is Ross. From Friends.

I used to have an AEC Matador to play with on my driveway. It was a timber tractor like this one.

I'm collecting grey hairs as well.
This is the AmDram group I am in. You should be able to find photos of me in the Panto last year there. I act, sing, dance and, most importantly, I build just about all the set and props. As a hobby it takes up more time then my paid work!
